MISSION
STATEMENT
| The Mission
of the
Lamplighter Barbershop Chorus is:
|
|
|
"To be a
singing fraternity, dedicated to:
having fun,
singing,
entertaining,and serving the community.
|
|
|
The general
long-term purposes of the Lamplighter Barbershop Chorus are:
- To recruit men for
membership who are interested in singing as a hobby;
- To provide members
with a weekly singing session for learning a broad repertoire of
barbershop-style
songs for use in community service and fund
raising activities such as sing-outs, choral performances,
annual
concerts, and periodic participation is Society choral
competitions;
- To improve the
quality of the chapter's choral sound;
- To provide members
with a variety of weekly quarteting activities;
- To encourage
members to form quartets and participate in
chapter performance
events and area contests; and
- To seek
opportunities to attract local secondary school young people to
barbershop-style music through
Chapter youth outreach activities
which could include demonstrations, Lamplighter's appearances at
local
schools, performance opportunities for young quartets,
and
incentive awards for youth choral groups.
