WHAT IS BARBERSHOP?
Barbershop harmony is a uniquely American musical art form. It is known for its four-part
harmony and the “expanded sound” created by its unique chord structure.

 ABOUT THE BARBERSHOP HARMONY SOCIETY:
Founded in 1938 in Tulsa, Okla., the Barbershop Harmony Society is the largest all-male singing
organization in the world. There are nine official foreign affiliates of the Society, but barbershop
harmony is sung in more than 40 countries including Japan, Russia and China.

The Lamplighters would like to take this opportunity to recommend to all choruses, choirs, and
service organizations that they visit the website of our friends at Groupanizer.  Tom Metzger and
his crew have been wonderful in helping us to set up our Members Only site. The Groupanizer Sing!
product allows us to have our calendar, attendance records, member contact info, and music
learning files all in one integrated location with one password access.  We are able to track the
learning progress of our singers as new songs are released, and it is easy to generate a report
of downloaded music so that we can stay on the correct side of copyright law.

To learn more about what Groupanizer can offer you (and it is now being made available
to non-singing groups such as service organizatons), please

If you'd like to see a short video tour of Groupanizer, click here.

Enjoy some of our webmaster's favorite barbershop quartets and choruses via Pandora.  You will need to provide an email address to listen, but it is free!  If you enjoy the concept, then try creating a station of your own - it's easy!
